Sam Harris

As Sam Harris began talking about how people these days are criticizing other people based on there religion or what they believe in because they think that what they believe is the best thing out there. There are people who that their beliefs to the extreme and they try to change other peoples beliefs which is not right because people have a right to there own beliefs and people get to study or practice what ever they want, but some people do not understand that and they hunt the outsiders making them look and feel bad. It is peoples beliefs that makes them have emotions and express what they think about things and some people use it to find happiness, but others use it to anger other people because they are not the same as them.

If we believe in something really importantly than it is the way that we handle the belief that determines whether we can withstand the affects of the aftermath as Sam gave and example of a kidnapping. If someone we know was kidnapped then we would be in panic and we could either fall into a great panic where we can not do anything or we could try to help out the matter by trying to accept the matter and find out what we can do to help out. As he talked about how AIDS is affecting Africa and how the church is preaching about how not to use condoms, but it is the only way to protect people from getting a disease and that does not make sense.
