Journal of Consciousness Studies

Individual psychotherapy views consciousness as the individual’s ability to adapt to certain things and it also is used to treat emotional problems and distressing problems which people have and can not handle. I think that this is not true because in order to solve a problem you need to learn something that can fix it and in order to do that you need to be active and look for the answer which you can find through experience. It says that the main problem that people are getting emotional and distressed is because people are trying to find the answer of what their purpose is and what they are trying to find and I think it is life that causes these problems not the questions we ask.

Social psychology views all the things that we know was learned though culture and the society around us which is different from individual psychotherapy because we are not depending in ourselves but the people all around us. I think that this is some what true because it is society that teaches us things but it is ourselves that determines how we handle that experience for the better or for the worst because of the matter at hand. This theory is saying that we can not rely on ourselves and we will never get anywhere with out any one to help us, but I think that we can succeed if we think hard enough so that we can discover think for ourselves and for other people.
